Tucker Carlson is losing advertisers after saying immigrants make America ‘dirtier’

Tucker Carlson has become the latest Fox News personality to face an exodus of advertisers.

After Carlson — a favorite of white supremacists — said immigrants make America “dirtier” during Thursday’s edition of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Pacific Life announced it was pulling ads from his Fox News show to “reevaluate” its “relationship with his program” on Friday.

Despite not offering an apology, Carlson proclaimed, “I like immigration, I like immigrants” on Friday night.

Carlson has used his Fox News platform to claim that immigration advocates want to “change your country forever,” advocate for excluding Hispanics from the U.S. to preserve the country’s white identity, complain about how difficult it is to be a white man, promote a social media site frequented by white nationalists, and defend a white nationalist Pizzagate conspiracy theorist.

But the Fox News host’s apparent acknowledgment that he didn’t really believe immigrants were making America “dirtier” was not enough to stop the corporate backlash, as three more advertisers dropped Carlson on Monday.

Indeed responded to a tweet inquiring about its relationship with Carlson to note it “has no plans to advertise on this program in the future.”

Then later on Monday, Smile Direct confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that it was also done running advertisements during Tucker Carlson Tonight.

Carlson lost a fourth advertiser on Monday evening when Bowflex also announced it was done supporting his Fox News show. “We have requested that Fox News remove our ads from airing in conjunction with Tucker Carlson Tonight in the future,” the company said in a statement. “Aside from our decision to remove our ads from his show, we have no other association or affiliation with Mr. Carlson.”

Despite three advertisers dropping Carlson on Monday, MoveOn’s Jordan Uhl noted he still enjoys plenty of corporate support.

Instead of taking responsibility for Carlson’s comments, the conservative network has attempted to blame the controversy on “left wing advocacy groups.”

In addition to being offensive, Carlson’s remarks about immigration didn’t make sense, as the economic benefits of migration have been cited by numerous Democrats and progressives.

Fox News parted ways with Bill O’Reilly last year after advertisers abandoned his show following reports that the longtime Fox host reached settlements with numerous women who accused him of sexual harassment.

Fox News’ Laura Ingraham also faced corporate backlash after mocking a survivor of the Parkland, Florida school shooting earlier this year.
