Trump-Hating NY Attorney General Files Lawsuit To ‘Dissolve’ the NRA

Letitia James ran for office campaigning on a platform to end what she calls Donald Trump’s “illegitimate” presidency.  First off, what does a state AG have to do with ending a presidency?

The NRA lawsuit is nothing more than an attack to the closest thing to Trump as James could get her hands on this close to the November election.

Letitia James was elected Attorney General of New York State on a platform of using the full power of her office to target “illegitimate” Donald Trump and people around him.  She is the embodiment of a woke TDS prosecutor.

So it’s not a shock to the system to see  James yesterday mentioned, for the purpose of gathering a limelight, a press conference for today with a “major national” announcement.   Trump haters all over social media speculated that this was the crown moment they’ve been waiting for, that James was finally going to indict Donald Trump and his many companies over all the made up corruption via leftist imagination.  YES, they shouted.  YES!

No such luck.  Too bad, so sad, bye bye Trump haters.  Go take a cold shower.

We are seeking to dissolve the NRA for years of self-dealing and illegal conduct that violate New York’s charities laws and undermine its own mission.

The NRA diverted millions of dollars away from its charitable mission for personal use by senior leadership.

That will be too extra-chromosome radical leftist political even for this AG to do on the night of the election.  As an alternative, she settled for announcing she would seek to dissolve the NRA.

The four defendants failed to fulfill their fiduciary duty to the NRA and used millions upon millions from NRA reserves for personal use, including:

trips for them and their families to the Bahamas & safaris in Africa
private jets
expensive meals
and other private travel

There have been a number of reports of infighting and excessive spending by NRA executives, so there likely is some reality to the excessive spending allegations. Whether or not that meets the statutory standard for dissolving the entity is another story which is not going to be answered in the courts for years.  But, in today’s woke work of the leftward land of silliness, radical progressive prosecutors are showing they don’t care one iota about the Constitution, the rule of law, or proper hygiene in most cases.

Law school, the Constitution and other such things aside, this is 100 percent political, everyone knows it, and James does not care in the slightest.  Sometimes I think one of the qualifications for running for office as a Democrat is that you can keep a straight face and act like everything is completely normal when you offer to pluck a full-grown German Shepherd through your nose.  How Democrats can keep a straight face when they do the most outrageous things is a talent for having no principles or self esteem at all.   As crazy as she is, she could possibly get this done in time for the election.  How she thinks that will hurt Trump is beyond me, because as of 2019 30 percent of Americans own a firearm, and the NRA, despite any shenanigans going on at the corporate level, is one of the only entities that fights to keep the Second Amendment alive, which means they’re fighting to allow us to be able to defend ourselves, especially now when James’ party is pushing to defund police departments across the country.  I personally would love to see the backlash against Democrats for even this announcement.

Even with John Roberts joining the dark side of the Supreme Court, this will backfire in the end.  It will do nothing more than highlight how Democrats are hell bent on taking away your guns, and they don’t care how they do it.  They want government control over every aspect of your life, and the easiest way for a tyrannical government to achieve that is by disarming the public.  Her lamebrain actions here will boost NRA memberships – mine just lapsed, so my next keystrokes after finishing this story is to renew it – and give President Trump another talking point for the November election.
