Teenage Chili’s Hostess Allegedly Attacked After Enforcing Social Distancing Policy
Last Sunday, three women were arrested for allegedly attacking a 17-year-old hostess at a Chili’s restaurant in Louisiana after she did her job to try to enforce the restaurant’s CV-19 social distancing policies.
Baton Rouge police made a statement saying Tammy Dabney, 48, has been charged with aggravated second-degree battery, Rodneka Dabney, 27, has been charged with disturbing the peace and simple battery and Erica Dabney, 46, was also charged with disturbing the peace and easy battery.
In a earlier assertion, police said the teenage victim, Kelsy Wallace, was attempting to figure out how to seat a large group when an fracas began.
Wallace said it started when she refused to seat the party of 13 women at the same table because of the restaurant’s policy to not seat more than six people together because of CV-19. She says members of the large group started to aggressively confront her.
“She pushed me and I pushed her back,” she said about one of the women in the group. “And they all attacked me. I was kind of fighting for my life. I was really scared, calling out for my mama.”
First off, it’s wrong to put your hands on anyone, but this was a minor, and they are in heap big doo doo trouble for that.
Wallace, a senior at Broadmoor Senior High School and Career Technical Education Center, has plans to become a doctor, and said that she was taken to the hospital after the incident, where she got 5 stitches above her eye. She additionally sustained scratches and had a chunk of her hair ripped out, she says. OUCH!
She doesn’t plan to return to her job.
“It really has taken an emotional toll on me; not just physically, but emotionally as well,” she says.
I don’t blame her. Being physically attacked is a trauma no one should have to endure, let alone a kid.
A GoFundMe page has been created as help her with the costs of her senior expenses and upcoming college expenses. Give what you can. The girl deserves a break after going through that.
Records reveal that Tammy was released from custody, Erica is still in the custody of the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. There are no records showing if Rodneka is still in custody.
