It Begins: Nancy Pelosi Told Reporters She Doesn’t Think There Should be Debates Between Trump and Biden [VIDEO]
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday said that she doesn’t believe there ought to be any presidential debates ahead of the November election, arguing Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden shouldn’t “legitimize” a discussion with President Donald Trump.
I predicted this back when it became obvious that Joe Biden is suffering from some form of dementia. We already had the New York Times try their best to inject that thought in the hopes of starting a fray. Times columnist Thomas Friedman advised Biden in a column to do things that would make it difficult to debate, things like Biden won’t debate until Trump releases his tax returns, and the debate should have fact checkers, who we all know will lie in favor of Biden.
“I don’t think that there should be any debates,” Pelosi said openly to reporters. “I do not think that the president of the United States has comported himself in a way that anybody has any association with truth, evidence, data and facts.”
This from a woman who lies every day with abandon. The reasons she gives for not holding debates are themselves bald-faced lies.
“I wouldn’t legitimize a conversation with him nor a debate in terms of the presidency of the United States,” the Speaker added.
How is that any different from how Pelosi has treated the office of the president since the day he was elected? She just told the world that she doesn’t believe working with the president of the United States is worth the effort, and she did it by lying about Trump lying.
“I think that he’ll probably act in a way that is beneath the dignity of the presidency,” she said, citing what she called his “disgraceful” actions during the 2016 debates with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“He does that every day,” she added. “But I think he will also belittle what the debates are supposed to be about.”
As an alternative, Pelosi proposed that the candidates take separate stages and answer questions about their policies in a “conversation with the American people” instead of “an exercise in skulduggery.”
I believe the truth to be that Pelosi knows Trump will wipe the floor with Biden, and she and her fellow Democrats don’t want that to happen in front of millions of Americans watching debates, and that, in my opinion, is a disservice to the American people, because the debates, if nothing else, show voters how the candidates do under pressure.
Does Pelosi think Xi Jinping, the president of China, will stand on a separate stage from a President Joe Biden to debate trade policies?
I think Republicans and conservatives have to nip this tactic in the bud immediately.
However, she recognized that the Biden campaign “thinks in a different way about this.”
Pelosi’s remarks come as some within the Democratic Party have said Biden should not take part in debates with Trump, pointing to the polling advantage Biden has over the president. Yet, even that is evaporating daily as the DNC convention ended and the RNC convention began.
Pelosi had hinted that she did not think Biden should debate Trump during an interview last week with David Axelrod on his podcast.
“My view, I wouldn’t even debate Trump because unless you have a lie detector, or a truth teller,” she told “The Axe Files,” adding that Biden “has said he will, and that’s great.”
I would love to see a lie detector place on Pelosi every time she gives a press conference. The Democrats accuse Trump of lying, but their definition of a Trump lie is anything he says that they don’t like.
She also alleged the press have “enabled a lot of Trump to happen.” Meanwhile, the press has attack this president more than the last three combined in my opinion. They do stories if Trump asks for an extra scoop of ice cream for goodness’ sake.
“Remember when he was stalking Hillary Clinton during the debate,” she said. “Why wouldn’t the press have said go back to your place? Why did they let that happen?”
Maybe because that’s how debates are done when it’s just men? Liberal politicians love to talk about the power of women, but then they hide behind the fabrication of a frail female when it suits them.
Here’s a great depiction of Nancy Pelosi that captures exactly how I vision her whenever I hear her voice.
The Biden campaign has dismissed pleas to avoid the debates, with a spokesman saying earlier this month that he looked forward to debating the president. And if Biden’s debate against Paul Ryan is any indication, we’re going to see the former vice president break out in laughing fits and insults throughout the entire debate, because that’s how he gets around having to answer tough questions.
For example, what if while answering a question about political corruption Trump asks Biden, “Hey, where’s Hunter?” Biden would lose it. He’s already cursed at and insulted fellow Democrat voters at rallies before he began locking himself in his basement.
A number of other Democratic leaders have said Biden shouldn’t fear debating Trump before the election, including Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).
“We’ve had presidential debates for a long time now, and it’s been a way for a lot of people around the nation to be able to see the candidates in action,” Warren said.
Trump and his campaign have questioned Biden’s mental fitness, pointing to his past verbal gaffes, and things he’s said that aren’t gaffes at all yet still unexplained. They pushed for more debates and for them to take place sooner. A reason to happen sooner would thanks to the Democrat scam of mail-in voting, many people will cast their mail-in votes before they see how Biden is not fit for the toughest job in the world.
Biden himself said it’s a “legitimate question” to ask in regards to the mental fitness of any candidate over the age of 70, while dismissing Trump’s attacks.
“The only thing I can say to the American people … watch me,” Biden said during an interview with ABC News.
The president additionally asked that the candidates take drug tests before the first debate against Biden in Cleveland that is scheduled to happen on Sept. 29, suggesting that drugs had improved the former vice president’s debate performance against Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) back in March. That’s like an athlete taking steroids to gain an unfair advantage, but how much do you want to bet that some Democrat or some liberal somewhere will make the argument that it’s perfectly legit?
There are three debates scheduled between Trump and Biden, and one is scheduled between Vice President Pence and Biden’s running mate Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA).
