Mike Pence Was Right When He said During RNC Speech That Joe Biden Supports Reducing Police Funding [VIDEO]
The claim has been made that former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden wants to defund the police.
In a word, it’s true. Biden officially and deceptively opposes calls to “defund the police,” however, he supports “re-directing” funding from the police to other priorities, which is the exact same thing.
Can the Democrats just stop the lying over this point?
Wednesday night, Vice President Mike Pence went on the offensive against Joe Biden in his speech to the Republican National Convention (RNC):
“Joe Biden says America is systemically racist. And that law enforcement in America has a, quote, “implicit bias” against minorities.
And when asked whether he’d support cutting funding to law enforcement, and he replied, “Yes, absolutely.”
Joe Biden would double down on the very policies that are leading to unsafe streets and violence in America’s cities.
The hard truth is… you won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America. Under President Trump, we will stand with those who stand on the Thin Blue Line, and we’re not going to defund the police – not now, not ever.”
Other so-called fact checkers are saying the allegation that Biden wants to defund the police is false, but we all heard him respond in a virtual town hall to the question by an activist who asked him if he supported “diverting” police funds, and he said, “Yes, absolutely.”
While Biden has said he doesn’t see the need to “defund” the police, he also said he wants to “redirect” police funding from the money that was earmarked for police departments to other priorities like social workers and psychological well-being. He’s listening to leftist masters who actually believe that redirecting police funds to social workers will make it easier to stop crime. The fact that the Fake News media allows, and even encourages is rhetorical Olympics shows what a prophet George Orwell was when he wrote about newspeak in his dystopian novel 1984.
Leftist activists have tried to clarify exactly what they mean by “defund the police.”
For example, the leftist think tank, the Brookings Institution, last month explained their take:
“‘Defund the police’ means reallocating or redirecting funding away from the police department to other government agencies funded by the local municipality. That’s it. It’s that simple.”
The New York Times, the so-called ran an opinion piece with the headline `”Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish the Police” and a sub headline stating, “Because reform won’t happen.”
When Biden’s masters get him to say that he supports redirecting police funds, he’s supporting defunding the police.
Pence specifically mentioned a response Biden gave to a question by Ady Barkan in a virtual town hall back in June. Barkan asked the former vice president, “Can we agree that we will redirect among the funding?”
Biden replied: “Sure, completely.”
