Biden Ignores At Least Two Incidents of Racial Riots Under Obama Where National Guard Had to be Called Out
Former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden accused President Donald Trump of being the problem Thursday as violence, unrest and racial tension remain prevalent across the country. As if there was no racial unrest during the Obama/Biden regime where that administration set race relations back 50 years.
Isn’t it funny how Democrats are blaming Trump for riots going on in cities run by Democrats? The president hasn’t done anything to cause riots in blue cities, yet Biden and his party of projectionists blame Trump for it all.
During an interview with Biden-friendly MSNBC, the former vice president compared the state of the nation during President Obama’s second term with Trump’s first, but completely overlooked a major event that happened in the middle of the second Obama-Biden administration. Biden either lied or his memory is failing.
“For the last four years we weren’t having riots, racial riots,” he said of his second term with Obama. “When they occurred, we didn’t have to call in the National Guard.”
Biden conveniently missed the violent protests in Ferguson, Mo., following the 2014 police shooting of Michael Brown. As violence overtook the St. Louis suburb, Governor Jay Nixon absolutely called in the National Guard.
“Tonight, a day of hope, prayers, and peaceful protests was marred by the violent criminal acts of an organized and growing number of individuals, many from outside the community and state, whose actions are putting the residents and businesses of Ferguson at risk,” Nixon said in a statement describing events very similar to how the Trump administration has characterized recent riots and violence in Democrat-run cities across the country. “I am directing the highly capable men and women of the Missouri National Guard to assist … in restoring peace and order to this community.”
The National Guard was posted again in November after more violence broke out when a grand jury voted not to indict Officer Darren Wilson for Brown’s death.
Biden made the comments as a response to leaked excerpts of the speech President Trump is expected to deliver Thursday night at the Republican National Convention.
“We have spent the last four years reversing the damage Joe Biden inflicted over the last 47 years,” Trump is expected to say. “At the Democrat convention, you barely heard a word about their agenda. But that’s not because they don’t have one. It’s because their agenda is the most extreme set of proposals ever put forward by a major party nominee.”
He also forgot that in April of 2015 the National Guard was called out in Baltimore after the death of Freddy Gray who was arrested during a drug sting by police, while being transported to a police station house.
About 1,500 US National Guard troops were lined along the streets and people were ordered to stay inside their homes as a 10 pm curfew went into effect. Police chiefs admitted that rioters had “outnumbered us and outflanked us” during violent clashes earlier in the day.
I don’t know where Biden was at the time, but his boss, Barack Obama, spoke to the problem in Baltimore where he condemned rioters as criminals, while at the same time he was being himself by trashing police saying, “There are some police who aren’t doing the right thing,” he said.
“This is not new. It’s been going on for decades,” Obama said. “We as a country have to do some soul-searching.” He went on to ask the country to tackle the problems of impoverished black neighborhoods before they descended into crisis.
Remember as heavily armed soldiers rolled into the city riding in armored vehicles?
“This is not martial law,” said General Linda Singh, the commander of the Maryland national guard at a press conference while troops showed up in armored vehicles. “Martial law means that at that point the military fully takes over, so we have not reached that point.”
