POLL: Sports Favorability Dropping Exponentially, People Don’t Like Virtue Signaling

The Sports Industry must be getting paid to screw up sports because there is little explanation to why the industry leaders can’t understand the average American sports fan who would love to throw money at the players, the teams, and all of the industries who support American sports, especially while the majority of Americans have been housebound over the past 6 months looking for an entertaining escape from the harsh realities of a pandemic.

The Hill reported recently, “Millionaire athletes telling us how racist all white people have inevitably damaged the favorability rating of the NBA among conservatives and whites. Good. Public image of sports industry drops amid pandemic”

According to a new Gallup Poll, “Sports” favorability is dropping among all Americans, and the industry that once made money “hand over fist” is coming face to face with a major problem; people are tuning out and keeping their money.

Gallup’s number shows that the sports industry’s positive score in 2019 sat at 45%, but fell by a third to just 30% in 2020. Similarly, while 25% held a negative view in 2019, that number shot up to 40% in 2020.

Among political groups the largest decline in net-positive views came from Republicans, as the figure tumbled from +11 in 2019 to -35 in 2020. Independents’ views had a steep drop from +26 last year to -10 this year. Democrats’ views dropped slightly from a +16 net-positive in 2019 to +11 in 2020.

Democrat voters are alone, in having a net positive view, proving that the industry has become political and people are finally saying they have had enough of it.

Sports programming has been bombarded with social justice concerns since former President Obama helped turn the industry into a major Grassroots Marketing Platform for Community Organizers, and sports fans hung in there, even adopting the nonsense like Feminist Pink Socks for October and other attempts to emasculate Sports in general and turn teams into political activists.

Sports Legends like LaBron James are now using their platforms to push politics that American voters do not support. Here is a recent tweet about Poll workers for the Presidential Election:

Sports fan, and the population in general accepted some more subversive community organizing from players and team owners over the years, but the “in your face” political domination is not being embraced. People were not watching sports for political advice, afterall.

The tides are changing, and people are just overwhelmed with the general disrespect from extremely wealthy sports figures such as LeBron James pushing full out Communism and Black Lives Matter in the faces of Americans.

The Gallup poll was conducted July 30-Aug. 12, right as the NBA started with players kneeling for the national anthem and playing on courts painted with “Black Lives Matter.”

It was also conducted before the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wis., on Aug. 23, which led to a brief boycott of the NBA. Conservatives have been critical of players participating in the boycott. 

The poll surveyed 1,031 adults and reported a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.
