Angry Biden Press Secretary Accuses Fox News Anchor of Asking Questions ‘Straight From the Trump Campaign Talking Points’ [VIDEO]
TJ Ducklo, Former vice president and Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s national press secretary appeared to get angry at a Fox News anchor after he was asked some simple questions that he claimed were partisan. It’s probably the first time any real news person ever asked a legitimately tough question for anyone associated with the Biden campaign, so Ducklo took offense.
Fox News’ Special Report anchor Bret Baier asked about whether or not Biden has ever used a teleprompter to do local interviews or question and answer sessions. The Biden press secretary refused to answer the question, instead claiming it was nothing more than a talking point of President Trump’s reelection campaign. Only everyone in the known universe wants to hear the answer to that question.
“This is straight from the Trump campaign talking points,” Ducklo said replying to Baier’s question, who responded that the campaign has been using that point as an attack on Biden.
“They’re using it. They talk about it every day. Can you say yes or no?” Baier asked.
“They talk about it every day because they don’t have a coherent argument for why Donald Trump deserves reelection, deserves four more years,” Ducklo said. “We know that he lied to the American people. We know that he has not shown leadership during this crisis, and they are desperate to throw anything they can against the wall to try to distract from that fact.”
The host told Ducklo he understood what he was saying, but then reminded him he still wasn’t answering the question. Political operatives like politicians are very good at answering a question by not answering the question. They start off sounding like they’re going to answer the question, but they deviate away from it, usually by throwing an attack at their opponent.
Ducklo then accusedFox News of helping the Trump campaign in the anchor’s choice of questions. As if the rest of the news media universe doesn’t throw carefully-selected attacks at Trump and members of his campaign and administration every day of the week. Democrats are used to getting softball questions thrown at them.
“I’m not going to allow the Trump campaign to funnel their questions through Fox News and get me to respond to that,” he said.
Ducklo once more accused the network of making excuses for Trump’s leadership. His response came after Baier asked whether or not Dr. Anthony Fauci was mistaken when he said Trump’s private and public comments on the Chinese virus didn’t have many discrepancies in them.
That issue came out after audio recordings from a hit piece by Bob Woodward revealed Trump saying early on in the pandemic that he wanted to downplay the virus to avoid causing a panic in the US. Can you imagine if Trump told us we could all die? I think trying to avoid a panic was the responsible thing any leader should do, especially at that point in time, because we hardly had any information about what we were really dealing with back then.
When asked in regards to the president’s words, Fauci said it wasn’t far off from what Trump told the White House virus Task Force at the time and what he later told the public.
“I know that you all are working overtime to try to find excuses for this president,” Ducklo responded. “We know from the president’s own words, he knew how serious this threat was. He did not implement the necessary steps to get testing to where we needed, to get contact tracing to where we needed, to actually mobilize PPE and get that around to hospitals around the country.”
If you watch the whole interview with Ducklo, and you know what’s really going on, you come out of it realizing the man has a terrible economy with telling the truth. He lied on just about every point he made from saying that Biden was never against the China travel ban to Trump lied about the seriousness of the Chinese virus, and everything in between.
It was also neither the president’s job nor his responsibility to do testing, and contact tracing wasn’t even mentioned until months in. States had that ultimate responsibility. Democrats can’t claim 10th Amendment federalism when it comes to locking people down and forcing businesses to shut down, and then claim it was Trump’s responsibility to do testing. Nowhere in the US Constitution does it say that the federal government will be responsible for such things.
Ducklo additionally pushed back on a clip shown of Biden saying he thought a travel ban on China seemed like a premature decision when the virus first broke out. In fact, the Democratic nominee said it was xenophobic to do so.
When Baier continued to pushed him on it, Ducklo said Biden was never against the travel ban placed by President Trump and offered to issue fact checks to Fox News.
“Joe Biden has been clear about this,” he said, adding he felt the network and Trump both “liked” to reference the travel ban. “Again, I can send you the fact checks if they’re helpful. This has been fact-checked into oblivion.”
Except that Biden did say the travel ban was xenophobic before he said he agreed it was a good idea, saying, “This is no time for Donald Trump’s record of hysteria xenophobia, hysterical xenophobia, and fear-mongering to lead the way instead of science.” Biden not only didn’t support the ban, he explicitly opposed it, repeatedly saying it was “unscientific,” even though it turns out it was backed up by the science. Even the brain dead Biden should understand that.
Baier said he only asked because Trump talks about it frequently, and it’s probably going to come up in presidential debates.
When Ducklo tried to duck low on the question and instead attack Trump’s handling of the pandemic, Baier cut him off.
“I’m going to take it you’re not going to answer that question,” he said. “You’re going to send me some fact checks.”
