A NY Democrat Runs Ad Trashing Bill de Blasio as ‘the worst mayor in the history of New York City’ [VIDEO]
As New York City ostensibly continues to spiral down its path of steady decline, the political hits continue to come at Mayor Bill de Blasio from both sides of the aisle. You know you’re not doing good when a New York Democrat goes against another New York Democrat and it’s not in a primary race.
On Thursday, when asked about a recent ad Representative Max Rose (D-NY), launched calling de Blasio “the worst mayor in the history of New York City,” the his royal highness, the mayor, responded saying Rose “is just a politician running for office and he’s wrong.” The arrogance of de Blasio knows no bounds. Putting his mishandling of the Chinese virus pandemic (CV-19) aside, de Blasio has a plethora of reasons why many New Yorkers would call him the worst mayor in New York City history. He surpassed Mayor David Dinkins in that title a few years ago.
In an interview with Fox News, Rose stated that he’s “ashamed that Bill de Blasio is a Democrat with the way he’s acting,” and refuted the mayor’s remarks that suggested the congressman’s criticisms are only for the purpose of helping him in his close race against Republican candidate Nicole Malliotakis.
“I would prefer it if the mayor didn’t think so much about advertisements and actually started doing his job. Let’s think about that,” Rose told Fox News. “My response to the mayor is plain and simple. If you don’t want to be considered the worst mayor in the history of New York City, do your damn job. Stop playing politics.”
Rose went on to call out his own party for “not giving a damn” about the deteriorating quality of life inside major US cities, and accused fellow Democrats of making decisions primarily based on what will reflect well on social media. For most Democrats today, the entire goal is to get Donald Trump out of office.
“Democrats do this all too often. They scoff at things like quality of life. They say, ‘That’s not, you know, intellectually elitist enough for me.’ Let’s pick up the trash on time. Let’s clean the streets…. They don’t care if the trash gets picked up on time because social media doesn’t care if the trash gets picked up on time. They don’t care about a crime unit or this or that because you can’t put it into a hashtag,” Rose said.
The congressman isn’t the only one concerned with the quality of life in the city. De Blasio and Governor Andrew Cuomo have allowed the riots to go on in the city, and both completely botched the pandemic, so many New Yorkers are feeling like leaving. And many have. Last week, over 160 business executives in NYC signed a letter to de Blasio urging him to take “immediate action to restore essential services” with concerns that worsening living conditions will prevent the city’s economy from bouncing back following the CV-19 lockdowns. They don’t care, because they want living conditions to be trashed. People living in despair is good for business as far they’re concerned, because it makes them look like heroes when they can fix living conditions for their constituents, even when they are the cause of bad living conditions.
The letter continued, “There is widespread anxiety over public safety, cleanliness and other quality of life issues that are contributing to deteriorating conditions in commercial districts and neighborhoods across the five boroughs.”
“The letter could not have come soon enough,” Rose said. “What we are seeing are mini Amazon debacles day in and day out where this mayor is almost luxuriating in the ways in which he is chasing businesses out of New York City. Guess what that means? You have less business in New York City — that’s less tax revenue you have to raise salaries and to help people.”
Rose said he didn’t vote for de Blasio in 2014 nor 2017, and despite the various calls for the mayor to step down, he isn’t holding his breath for a resignation anytime soon. However, he believes in lieu of action from city leadership, the federal government is responsible for stepping up with “significant state and local aid.”
Um, not really, congressman. You guys made the mess, you can clean it up on your own dime. That’s federalism. Why should people who live outside New York City have to pay to clean up the mess that New York politicians have allowed to happen? That’s what it means by invoking the federal government for aid. It means all of us will have to pay for cleaning up the destruction that most of us were sickened by watching happen every night.
