Just In: Fox News Is Reporting That Durham Has Taken Over Parts of The Investigation Into The Clintons & Their ‘Foundation’
[Opinion] Not to get your hopes up, but Fox News is reporting that John Durham has ‘assumed parts of John Huber’s Clinton Foundation review.’ After almost 4 years, and just one indictment (Clinesmith, who got a slap on the wrist) I have grown cautious about getting too excited or convinced that anything serious will come from Durham’s investigations. Quite frankly, I am weary that the DOJ has no interest in ‘Justice,’ but rather has the singular goal of insuring ‘Just Us’ prevails over actual, populist ‘Justice.
If you recall, Disgraced former US Senator and Trump’s first US Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, had ordered Huber to start an investigation into the Clinton Foundation back in 2017.
At the beginning of 2020, the National Review reported:
‘The Justice Department is expected to close a two-year investigation into the now-defunct Clinton Foundation after failing to turn up substantial evidence of wrongdoing, the Washington Postreported Friday.
In 2017 then-attorney general Jeff Sessions ordered John Huber, U.S. attorney for Utah, to investigate allegations of corruption involving Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, and a company called Uranium One. President Trump and had raised concerns that during the Obama administration, the State Department had approved the sale of Uranium One, which mines uranium for nuclear power, to Russia partly by using the company’s contacts with the Clinton Foundation. Hillary Clinton was secretary of state at the time of the sale.
Officials familiar with the investigation told the Post that Huber had found no hard evidence of corruption. Although the DOJ has not formally ended the investigation, it has largely wound down, according to the report.
A source familiar with Durham’s investigation [ie and ‘anonymous source’] told Fox News on Thursday that parts of what Huber was investigating in 2017 — involving the Clinton Foundation — have been incorporated in Durham’s investigation.
In November 2017, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions directed Huber, the U.S. attorney for Utah, and other senior prosecutors to evaluate “certain issues” involving the sale of Uranium One, and other dealings related to the Clinton Foundation. Sessions tapped Huber after requests by congressional Republicans, who had been calling for the appointment of a special counsel to review the matters.
Huber was also tasked with reviewing the FBI’s handling of the Clinton email probe, including allegations that the Justice Department and FBI “policies or procedures” were not followed.
It has been unclear, for years, the status of Huber’s investigation, but another [anonymous] source told Fox News Thursday that Huber has faced mounting criticism from the Justice Department and White House over his progress.
“There are folks that are aware of the fact that Huber has not done much, and there has been criticism at the Justice Department and the White House,” the source said. “Folks that have been concerned about what he did or didn’t do, and many of them feel that Huber did not dig deep enough or work hard enough.”
The source added that many are “very concerned about why there hadn’t been more done.”
The New York Times on Thursday first reported that Durham has focused attention on the Clintons, and said that Durham has sought documents and interviews about how federal law enforcement officials handled an investigation into allegations of political corruption at the Clinton Foundation.
Durham was appointed by Attorney General Barr last year to investigate the origins of the FBI’s Russia probe shortly after Mueller completed his yearslong investigation into whether the campaign colluded with the Russians to influence the 2016 presidential election.’It is not clear if Durham will be able to conclude his work before the election, though Barr has not ruled out the possibility of additional criminal charges.’
While we are praying that this facet of the investigation is what Barr was referring to when he told NBC News earlier this month that there ‘could be’ more charges coming from Durham’s probe, however, knowing the Clinton’s ability to escape justice, I am not holding my breath any longer.
There have been a lot of people suggesting that Durham should wait until after the election to release his results in order to try and avoid the investigation being labeled as a ‘political witch hunt’. Now, if this investigation was not into allegations of, what in my view, amounts to a soft coup of the presidency potentially by members of the Obama/Biden administration, I would say Durham should wait. However, if it turns out that the Obama/Biden administration did in fact abuse their powers and tried to throw the 2016 election for HRC, with Biden being on the ballot, I think the American people NEED to know, and ASAP.
One way or the other, we deserve to know the truth. Imagine if Biden somehow does get elected and then it comes out that the Obama/Biden admin did in fact commit crimes dealing with election integrity, how would voters feel about not having this information before casting their ballots? I know I would not be happy.
At the end of the day these reports all cite ‘anonymous sources,’ and for that reason I would not put too much faith in them. At this point, if anything happens to any high profile swamp creatures I would consider it a pleasant surprise. I guess my expectations have been beat down by the DOJ, … I have a feeling that I am not the only one.
