When President Trump Mentions Ilhan Omar At His Rally In Minnesota The Crowd Erupts In Deafening Chant Of ‘Lock Her Up!’
[Opinion] On Wednesday, President Donald Trump’s supporters started a “lock her up” chant about Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as the president warned of the dangers of allowing refugees to resettle in Minnesota.
Trump focused on Omar during a rally in Duluth. The president mentioned the first-term congresswoman and Somali refugee as he was pointing out Democratic presidential nominee and former vice president Joe Biden’s pledge to significantly increase refugee admissions from numbers Trump has cut it to during his first term in office.
“Another massive issue for Minnesota is the election of Joe Biden’s plan to inundate your state with a historic flood of refugees,” Trump said. “Congratulations, Minnesota. Congratulations. No.”
“What is going on with Omar?” the president added, citing claims allegedly tying Omar to a ballot harvesting scheme. “I’ve been reading these reports for two years about how corrupt and crooked she is. Let’s get with it. Let’s get with it.”
“What about Omar where she gets caught harvesting,” Trump said. “What the hell is going on! I hope the US attorney gets involved.”
Project Veritas, the undercover video journalism organization, along with founder James O’Keefe released videos of a Minneapolis organizer caught on video with stacks of empty ballots in a car along with another organizer offering someone money for someone’s ballot. A video of another organizer said that Omar was “the one who came up with all of this.” Since Omar is a radical progressive Democrat the mainstream media won’t touch the story, but we’re not the mainstream media.
“Frankly, harvesting is terrible, but it’s the least of the things she has done,” Trump continued. “Then she tells us how to run our country.”
Omar has found herself in the center of a lot of scandals since she first burst onto the political scene to trash the United States. From allegedly marrying her own brother to skirt around immigration laws, to lying to a court while seeking a divorce against said brother, to making anti-Semitic statements, and paying her new husband’s company $1 million for consulting fees and other issues.
The crowd then broke into a chant of “lock her up,” which first happened back in 2016 during Trump’s run against Hillary Clinton. It marked the latest escalation of attacks against Omar who is an anti-Semite and all around bigot.
Trump complained last week that Omar shouldn’t keep trashing the United States, asking “how is your country doing?” Omar, who is a US citizen, arrived a child after her family fled her native war-torn Somalia. The country accepted her family with arms wide open, and it would be nice if just for once we would hear her praise the United States instead of constantly bashing it, and not as Democratic platitudes for votes. Omar comes across as an ungrateful refugee who would probably be dead right now if it were not for our generosity.
Minnesota has among the highest population of refugees in the country, but Trump has drastically cut the number of refugees that can enter the country annually.
The president pointed out that Biden would propose a “700 percent increase in refugees coming from the most dangerous places in the world, including Yemen, Syria, and your favorite country, Somalia.”
“Biden will turn Minnesota into a refugee camp … overwhelming public resources, overcrowding schools and inundating your hospitals,” he added.
Biden’s platform does call for a large increase in refugee admissions, because bringing people who cannot take care of themselves is the ultimate virtue signal for Democrats running for office. The former vice president has pledged to admit about 95,000 refugees every year, or slightly greater than what the Obama administration set its limit to in 2016.
To the contrary, the Trump administration set its limit at 18,000 refugees for 2020. It’s called America First.
The rally on Wednesday was Trump latest trip to the Gopher State, which he narrowly lost in 2016, but the campaign now feels they got a shot at flipping the state red on November 3rd.
