Chicago Mayor Lightfoot Makes A Complete & Total Fool Of Herself, Enters Press Briefing Dressed in “Rona Destroyer” Superhero Costume
Here’s a comedic story for the day:
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot entered a press briefing on Wednesday dressed as the “Rona Destroyer”, a self-invented superhero complete with a colorful cape and eye mask.
Lightfoot and Chicago’s Department of Public Health Commissioner Allison Arwady passed out candy to media and posed for the cameras in their superhero costumes.
And then Mayor Lightfoot gave the press briefing on the city’s Halloween regulations in full costume.

Chicago has given the green light for trick-or-treating events this year, but with eight guidelines they are asking the public to abide by in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
“Telling people not to trick-or-treat isn’t realistic,” Mayor Lightfoot said. “They’re gonna trick-or-treat. Let’s just make sure that we do it in a safe and responsible way in the time of a pandemic.”
The guidelines recommend that children remain in groups of six or less, that they refrain from dipping their hands into any candy bowls, and that participants abide by social distancing rules and provide hand sanitizer to trick-or-treaters.
As per tradition, anyone who chooses to participate in the holiday’s festivities should leave their porch light on.
Additionally, the city is discouraging haunted houses and house parties of any size.
Mayor Lightfoot will kick off “Halloweek” with an event at city hall on October 26th.
Twitter has not had kind words to say of the mayor’s humorous stunt, with many criticizing her handling of Chicago’s violence and her overall performance as the mayor. One commenter, however, came to Lightfoot’s defense, saying that “her intentions behind the ‘costume’ were good, and light-hearted. No harm, no foul.”
Listen, I dislike our mayor just as much as the next guy, but let’s be real with ourselves. I have to believe her intentions behind the “costume” were good, and light-hearted. No harm, no foul. This demonizing of the people we don’t agree with needs to stop, and it starts with us pic.twitter.com/MuRRz31lWA
