CNN’s Chris Cuomo Freaks Out When Tim Murtaugh Calls Hium Out on COVID Hypocrisy [VIDEO]
CNN anchor Chris Cuomo was agitated Monday night by President Donald Trump’s speech and over the fact that Justice Clarence Thomas’ administered the Constitutional oath of office to now Justice Amy Coney Barrett, who was confirmed to the US Supreme Court by the Senate in a 52-48 vote not long after the ceremony.
It was a great birthday present for Hillary Clinton, by the way.
Between Fredo and Don Lemon, Cuomo had the worst of it after Trump Reelection Campaign Comms Director Tim Murtaugh took him to task. Personally, I don’t think Lemon got the full grasp of what was really happening, he’s not that bright. Cuomo did go to Yale, but we all know how he got in.
During the second part of Cuomo’s CNN “Prime Time” show, if you were able to get through it up to that point, Murtaugh and Fredo got into a showdown over who handled the Chinese virus pandemic better, President Donald Trump or Cuomo’s brother Governor Andrew Cuomo (D-NY)?
Murtaugh pointed out that his brother the governor praised President Trump for the work that his administration did for New York. Chris flat out said he never said that, saying, “He never said that, and you know it.”
Well, Chris must have missed this.
Murtaugh held his own against Fredo, bringing up the nursing home scandal where his governor brother forced COVID-19 patients into nursing homes, only to have Cuomo respond by saying “First of all, he never sent any, and you know that.” Only Chris Cuomo would know that, because the rest of the country knows that Andrew Cuomo sent COVID patients into nursing homes. And if he didn’t, then how come he tried to blame DOnald Trump and the CDC for him doing it? You don’t try to deflect blame for something you didn’t do.
We previously reported on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) administrator, Seema Verma, who said that New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo and other Democrat governors originally issued guidance that contradicted federal guidelines for nursing homes battling the Chinese virus.
Verma in no uncertain terms exposed Cuomo for his malfeasance and political expediency.
“I just want to make it very clear that our guidance was absolutely crystal clear,” Verma said in an interview late last week. “It was clear and unmistakable. Any insinuation to the contrary is woefully mistaken at best and dishonest at worst. We put out our guidance on March 13. It’s very clear when it says that, I’m actually going to read this to you, it says that: ‘When should a nursing home accept a resident who is diagnosed with DTMNBN-19?’ It says: ‘A nursing home can accept a resident diagnosed with DTMNBN-19 and still under transmission-based precautions,’ which means if this person is infectious you have to take precautions. It says ‘as long as the facility can follow CDC guidance for transmission-based precautions.’ It says: ‘If a nursing home cannot, it must wait until these precautions are discontinued,’ meaning if you are not able to care for this patient—somebody is still positive and you’re not equipped to care for the patient, then you shouldn’t accept the patient into your care. That’s really important because longstanding discharge—when you’re discharging a patient from the hospital, longstanding guidelines require when you transfer them somewhere you transfer them to a place that can take care of their needs whether they’re going home or they’re going to a nursing home or some other facility.”
Verma added later that it’s “disingenuous” for Democrats such as Cuomo to say they were following federal guidelines when they weren’t.
“I think the most important thing though is I think it’s disingenuous to try to undermine the federal guidelines,” Verma said. “They were absolutely clear and nursing homes across the country adhered to those and that’s why we’ve seen at the vast majority of nursing homes. I just don’t think we should ever put a nursing home in a situation or a patient where we force them to take a patient they are not prepared to care for. That not only jeopardizes the patient but it jeopardizes the health and safety of every single resident in that nursing home.”
She went further just to clarify thing:
“The guidelines they put out, or the policy they put out, is in sharp contrast to exactly what we were saying,” Verma told Breitbart News. “Many of the nursing homes—we’re seeing this in the data—many of the nursing homes were ill-equipped to address some of the requirements around infectious disease control. They were struggling in terms of isolating patients. If you have a nursing home that has several floors, maybe you can isolate patients easily. Maybe they develop a DTMNBN-positive wing. Those were some of the things we were recommending to ensure isolation. But some facilities, they’re smaller and maybe they’ve got two people sharing a room who are sharing a bathroom with two other people. Obviously, isolation in those types of situations is going to be way more difficult. That’s why you’ve got to ensure that the patients’ needs can be taken care of. In New York, what they put out is in direct conflict with the federal guidelines.”
Murtaugh rips Cuomo to shreds as the CNN anchor does everything he can to stave off his anger, including threatening to shut down the interview like a angry toddler, all because he called he and his brother out for being phonies and liars and especially for pointing out what a horrible job the governor did to combat the virus.
Think about this. 45 our 50 governors did not send COVID-19 patients into nursing homes, but 5 of them did: Governors Andrew Cuomo (D-NY), Gavin Newsom (D-CA) , Gretchen Whitmer (D-MI), Tom Wolf (D-PA), and Phil Murphy (D-NJ) all Democrats, and thanks to that boneheaded decision, states that sent COVID-19 patients into nursing homes make up 43 percent of all COVID-19 deaths.
Murtaugh also ripped on Cuomo for his quarantine and mask hypocrisy, reminding the viewers that Chris broke quarantine after being diagnosed with COVID-19, which the entire world knows about, because it became a huge controversy and the man who questioned the CNN anchor when he traveled to see a new house he was having built asked him wasn’t he supposed to be under quarantine.
The Trump campaign comms director also mocked Fredo for staging his rising from the basement after his quarantine was lifted, acting like he had been down there the whole time since his diagnosis. On top of that, Cuomo would argue with people to “wear the damn mask,” even though he got caught not wearing one once. The man’s a living, breathing hypocrite.
Cuomo got really defensive as the back and forth continued, with the anchor claiming Murtaugh was “mocking” his COVID-19 illness. Murtaugh responded, telling him the deal isn’t about mocking him, but about wanting to know why he one one set of standards for himself on pandemic safety and a completely different set for everyone else, including Trump administration officials?
It was delicious brutality to watch Murtaugh take Cuomo down for the count, causing the anchor to lie multiple times to defend himself and his brother, the governor of New York. Hypocrisy eventually brings that kind of smackdown.
