Trump’s Cease and Desist: Example of Creepy Fundraising Letter From The RNC
The Republican National Committee (RNC) is still trying to raise money from President Donald J. Trump supporters in a way that is offensive to him and to the people they are hitting up for donations, and Trump has had enough of it.
“President Donald Trump sent cease-and-desist letters demanding that Republican National Committee (RNC), the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) stop using his name and likeness to raise funds,” a Trump adviser told The Epoch Times.
“In a speech before the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando on Feb. 28, Trump instructed supporters to donate to his campaign website and the Save America political action committee (PAC). The move suggested Trump aims to build financial leverage over the RNC, a theory that seems to gain credence because of the cease-and-desist letters,” reported the EPOCH Times on Sunday.
The news went viral of Trump’s demands on Sunday because of Trump’s “golden touch” to fundraising for the Grand Old Party over the past four years.
Fox News reported in June about the massive wealth Trump made for the RNC:
“The Republican National Committee and the Trump campaign posted their largest online fundraising day ever on Sunday, bringing in $14 million across three entities on the president’s birthday — smashing their previous online fundraising record of $10 million on Oct. 19, 2016.
The surge in cash comes as Republicans’ war chest continues to dwarf Democrats’ holdings, as it has for the entire primary cycle. Trump and the RNC – which have been building a fundraising juggernaut for more than three years – have roughly $255 million cash on hand, compared with the approximately $100 million the Joe Biden campaign and DNC have in their coffers. “
But the Republican party leadership who benefitted from all that fundraising had not supported Trump, especially when he needed it the most during the events leading up to Biden’s inauguration and Trump’s second impeachment, leaving Trump’s supporters with a bad taste in their mouths over giving them more money.
The news broke about the cease and desist letter on the same day the RNC sent an appeal for donations, using Trump.
