Did ‘Catholic’ Joe Biden Skip Tradition of Attending Notre Dame Commencement Because of Protests or ‘Scheduling Conflict’?

The spin from the White House over ‘Catholic’ Joe Biden’s absence from the Notre Dame commencement claims he couldn’t attend because of a scheduling conflict. The problem is Biden will only be the second Catholic president to skip the commencement. A glaring mistake on scheduling or a fearful administration that doesn’t want to confront the controversy of abortion?

Biden is breaking with tradition in a big way but is it because of the ‘scheduling conflict’ or because 4,300 “members of the Notre Dame community” signed a petition urging Notre Dame President Fr. John Jenkins not to invite Biden over his stance on abortion?

Catholic News Agency says Biden was invited but could not attend due to a scheduling conflict.

The petition signed by thousands said that signers were “dismayed by the pro-abortion and anti-religious liberty agenda of President Joe Biden. He rejects Church teachings on abortion, marriage, sex, and gender and is hostile to religious liberty. He embraces the most pro-abortion and anti-religious liberty public policy program in history. The case against honoring him is immeasurably stronger than it was against honoring President Obama.”

The petition was signed by students, alumni, and others opposed to Biden’s pro-abortion policy.

What did Biden have going on today, Sunday, that he couldn’t attend the graduation?
